Quick Start
WHY Voter's Revenge was Created
If you want to understand more of the "Why" of Voter's Revenge, including its narrow focus (in it's initial release) on killing the Trans-Pacific Partnership, see the About Pages:

A Super Brief Overview of What You DO with this Tool
- Join groups of citizens, called "posses"
- Take pledges, directed at the particular "villainous" subject of the posse, who will be either an incumbent, running for re-election; or else a first time candidate for President (Donald Trump, Hilary Clinton, and/or Bernie Sanders)
- Fulfill the pledges that were required of you in order to join each posse, in a timely fashion. Pledges are conditional on redlines defined for each posse, with associated deadlines.
- Network with your friends, family, and neighbors to make the posses you belong to GROW (as well as posses you don't belong to.) Fulfilling 'Wrangler' type pledges, which are educational in nature, will also help grow the posses.
- LATER: When you complete a pledge, log that fact, thus providing an informal verification.
- "LATER" means: this feature isn't available, right now, but will be, soon.
How do you FIND a Posse?
- Follow a link to a posse that somebody gave you, or posted.
- Start from the home page, and click into the various sections. For example, if you click the NJ link in a House of Representatives section on the home page, you'll be presented with a hyperlinked list of New Jersey Representatives, together with their districts. Click one more time, and you will be in the Details page for the posse related to that particular Representative. You can start joining the posse, by clicking the big, blue "Join" button.
How do you JOIN a Posse as a Follower?
- Register as a local user at Voter's Revenge. You will automatically be logged in. (Afterwards: just log in.)
- Click the "Join" button in the Posse's details page (see the previous section).
- Click the "Maybe Join as a Follower"
- Select at least 1 Follower pledge.
- Optionally, select Voteslinger, Wrangler, and/or personal pledges.
- Click the "Yes (locally registered users, only)" button.
How do you JOIN a Posse as a Voteslinger and/or Wrangler?
- Right now, you can't! That's because, to be counted as a Voterslinger or Wrangler, you must be a Facebook user, and associate your Facebook account with a Voter's Revenge account. (We are still undergoing Facebook approval. For now, please join posses as a Follower, but optionally take Voteslinger and Wrangler pledges.)
But soon....
- Click the Join button in the Posse's details page (see the previous section).
- Log in as a Facebook user
- Associate your facebook account with Voter's Revenge. (Afterwards: Just log in as a Facebook user.)
- Click the Join button in the Posse's details page (see "How do you FIND a Posse?")
- Select at least a Voteslinger and/or Wrangler pledge.
- Optionally, one or two personal pledges.
- Click the "Yes (Facebook users, only)" button.
I'm an organizer. How can Voter's Revenge help me as an organizer?
Warning 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 organizations cannot engage in "electioneering", and the punitive vote bloc aspect of Voter's Revenge qualifies as "electioneering". Nobody should use Voter's Revenge as a representative of a 501(c)3 or 501(c)4 organization.
- Voter's revenge, by allowing users to publicly reveal their zip code, and public email, facilitates self-organization, and face-to-face collaboration and networking opportunities. Organizers for outside organizations can interact with politically motivated citizens via these 'common' routes. Thus, Voter's Revenge can be used to recruit, indirectly.
- Additionally, organizers can identity themselves as such (which requires a public email.) Motivated citizens - even those who chose not to reveal a public email - can pro-actively contact organizers.
I'm involved with a political campaign. How can Voter's Revenge help me as a campaign worker?
- Voter's revenge, by allowing users to publicly reveal their zip code, and public email, facilitates self-organization, and face-to-face collaboration and networking opportunities. Workers for political campaigns can interact with politically motivated citizens via these 'common' routes. Thus, Voter's Revenge can be used to recruit, indirectly.
- Additionally, campaigns that are strong against TPP, who are running against an incumbent who is weak on TPP, can facilitate the growth of posses that target their opponent, and directly profit during elections from Voteslingers fulfilling their pledges.
- Futhermore, campaign organizers can identity themselves as organizers (which requires a public email.) Motivated citizens - even those who chose not to reveal a public email - can pro-actively contact these organizers.
- Finally, note that campaign workers can (and should) co-brand the flyers which are passed out, as part of anti-TPP Posse pledges, with their candidate's campaign contact information. Voter's Revenge, itself, is neutral with respect to any particular politician. The only criteria for implicit condemnation is whether or not they meet the posse's demands (as expressed via their redlines), and those redlines are basically the same for all politicians in the system. However, the users of Voter's Revenge will be anything but neutral.
